Four ways we're transforming Gonjaland.
Each programme addresses a specific need — from finding hidden talent to funding higher education. Together they form a continuous pipeline of recognition and opportunity.
G-SAEP's work flows through four interconnected programmes. None of them works in isolation. A student who shines at the District Quiz Competition might be the next Motivational Programme speaker; the Spelling Bee winner from Year 1 might be a Scholarship Fund recipient in Year 3.
District Quiz Competitions.
Annual quiz competitions run at the district level across all seven districts of Gonjaland. Students compete in teams representing their schools, with rounds covering general knowledge, current affairs, and curriculum-aligned subjects. The district winners advance to the Regional Grand Finale held each year in Damongo.
Year 1 launches in three pilot districts — West Gonja, East Gonja, and Central Gonja — reaching approximately 20 partner schools and 500 students.
- ★ JHS and SHS divisions, two age categories
- ★ Public events with parents, teachers, and community present
- ★ Trophies, certificates, and academic prize packages for winners
Spelling Bee.
Inter-school spelling competitions designed for primary and JHS students, building vocabulary, confidence, and a love of language. Words are drawn from age-appropriate lists with progressive difficulty across rounds.
The Spelling Bee runs alongside the Quiz Competitions, sharing event days and venues where possible to maximize community attendance and reduce operational cost.
- ★ Primary school and JHS divisions
- ★ Curriculum-aligned word lists across difficulty bands
- ★ Regional final paired with the Quiz Grand Finale
Motivational Programmes.
An annual gathering in Damongo where successful sons and daughters of Gonjaland — doctors, lawyers, engineers, professors, business leaders from across Ghana and the diaspora — return to spend a day with current students. Not a series of speeches; a real conversation about what's possible.
The Annual Motivational Convention is the year's signature community event, with district-level satellite programmes running in the months prior.
- ★ Annual Convention in Damongo, plus district satellites
- ★ Small-group workshops, not just plenary speeches
- ★ Ongoing mentorship matching between speakers and standout students
Scholarship Fund.
The Scholarship Fund formally launches in Year 3 (2028/2029), supporting the brightest and most disadvantaged students from across Gonjaland through SHS, tertiary education, and selected professional courses. Year 1 and Year 2 sponsors seed-fund the capital base.
Eligibility is determined by both academic performance (typically demonstrated through G-SAEP's own competitions and partner-school records) and need-based criteria. Selection is governed by an independent Scholarship Committee.
- ★ Launches Year 3 (2028/2029)
- ★ SHS, tertiary, and select professional support
- ★ Independent Scholarship Committee governance
